Flow & Voice: a free monthly note with short, practical reflections on creativity and personal growth, plus occasional behind-the-scenes glimpses into my audio storytelling journey.
It's been an emotional few months as I reflect on the beautiful life lessons my mom taught me. I hope my sharing has inspired you to reflect on her beliefs and ideals and to use them in your life. We need more compassion, acts of kindness, openness, and creativity in the world. Today, I release the final life lesson she taught me, lesson number 10, in my series "What My Mama Taught Me: 10 Life Lessons on Compassion, Creativity, and Courage.”
Today's lesson is about how we impact the world, and, in particular, how we can use a sense of open discovery and acceptance to make it a better place ... one with empathy, connection, and humanity.

Pausing the Podcast
This also seems like a good time to pause the podcast and move forward with some new creative projects, particularly my work as an audiobook narrator. I'll stop sending Flow & Voice and transition to a new monthly note called Between the Lines (if you get Flow & Voice, you're already signed up). In it, I'll share some news from my narration journey (latest projects, great reads & listens) and a quote or creative musing from time to time. You can check out my new voiceover website here: jillhodgevo.com.
Don't worry, though, you'll still be able to find all the podcast episodes, articles, and resources over on lettheverseflow.com.
💛💜To everyone who listened to the podcast, who supported Let the Verse Flow as a creative project and community, and those who helped me see beyond my grief and caregiver woes to new adventures, I thank you. Your love and support have helped me heal through creative expression (the best type of creative self-care I know). To echo today's episode, you've already had a positive impact on my world. I'm excited to share what's next.
This Month on Let the Verse Flow
Episode 73: Leave the World Better Than You Found It (Part 10)

Episode 72: You Are Not an Island: The Power of Letting Others Care for You (Part 9)

🎙️Behind the Mic
My second audiobook was released last month. It's a short, reflective memoir called Lessons in Cornbread (by new indie author Katrina Young). You can find it here on Audible. I hope you'll check it out.

Upcoming Projects
🎤I'm recording my next book, a psychological thriller. As some of you know, I'm the biggest chicken when it comes to watching horror or thriller movies (except old black-and-white ones like the original Nosferatu), but I love reading them. And now I'm narrating one! Look for the book's release next month (in my new monthly note called Between the Lines).
